About Sokoban
Sokoban is the warehouse-keeper puzzle that has outlived every trend since the 1980s: a grid of walls, crates and target squares, a keeper who can only push — never pull — and rooms that look trivial until the first crate ends up flush against the wrong wall. Thirty levels run from one-crate warm-ups to four-crate traffic jams, and every single one is generated from a solved state and re-verified, so an unsolvable room is not something this collection can deal you.
The discipline of the genre is intact: every step counts as a move, every crate contact as a push, and the HUD tracks both because optimization is half the fun — clearing a room is one achievement, clearing it in the fewest moves is the other. A stuck indicator tells you when a position has become provably unsolvable: a crate wedged into a corner, or pinned along a wall run with no target anywhere on it. No buried crate is ever silently hopeless; the game warns you honestly so you can undo instead of restarting blind.
Unlimited undo makes experimentation free, your best move count is recorded per room, and the game remembers exactly which room you reached — close the tab mid-campaign and you resume where you left off. Arrows or WASD to walk, swipes on the board, taps on an adjacent square, or hold the on-screen pad to keep stepping; U or Z takes back a move, and N and P flip between rooms. The controls meet you wherever you are: tap an adjacent square to step into it, hold the pad to march down a corridor, and every input maps to exactly one step with no acceleration to fight. Crates snap onto targets with a satisfying click, and a completed room announces itself with the same restrained fanfare the rest of the game uses. Even the stuck warning follows that philosophy: the game would rather confess a dead position early than let you grind one in silence.
The classic failure is pushing before planning: the third push in a sequence often welds a crate to a wall and decides the whole room. This is the purest think-one-more-move game in the collection — no timer, no ads, no account — and the rooms get genuinely clever by the teens, when four crates start sharing the same narrow corridors.
How to Play Sokoban

Tips & Strategy
TIP 1
Plan from the end: decide which final push places each crate on its target, then work the order backwards.
TIP 2
Never push a crate against a wall unless that whole wall run contains a target — it will slide along the wall forever without one.
TIP 3
Corners are permanent graves for crates: a wall on two adjacent sides means it can never move again.
TIP 4
Use undo as a sketchpad — two exploratory pushes that reveal a jam cost nothing and teach everything.
TIP 5
Count pushes, not steps, when comparing plans: a route with fewer crate-contacts is usually the one that keeps the room flexible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I pull crates?
Pulling is the one ability the classic rules deny you — it is what makes order of operations the entire puzzle. Unlimited undo is the sanctioned way back.
The game says the level is stuck — what does that mean?
A crate has reached a provably dead position, such as a corner or a wall run with no target. The level is no longer solvable from here; undo a few moves.
Are all thirty rooms really solvable?
Yes — every level was generated backwards from a solved state and re-verified with a bounded search, so a solution always exists.
Does the game remember my progress?
Yes — the room you were on and your best move count for each solved room are stored in this browser, so you can continue the campaign across visits.
